This course will provide existing, qualified welders with enhanced practical skills and knowledge for electric weld frog repairs and thermit welding of rail in a safe and efficient manner.
Course Content
Components and functions of the welding equipment
Operator maintenance, troubleshooting, and record keeping of the welding vehicle and equipment
Thermit Rail welding
Electric welding frog repair
Quality Assurance
Safety, Fire Protection, and Occupational Health
Conclusion and Goal
At the end of this training the student will be able to repair surface defects in frogs using electric welding techniques. The students will be able to join rail using thermit welding procedures to AWS D15 standards.
